WELCOME TO ST MICHAEL'S CHURCH, MADELEY
On this site you’ll find lots of information about us – who we are and what we are all about. There is lots going on and plenty of opportunities to join in.
Whether you are a first time visitor, on holiday in the area, interested in the history of the church, would like to enquire about getting married or having a baptism, or are a regular at church, you will find a warm welcome at St Michael’s.
We meet each week where our services are a mix of traditional and contemporary worship, and we aim to be accessible and welcoming to all, with access and facilities for those with disabilities.
Although our church, built by Thomas Telford in 1796, is over 200 years old, it has undergone major changes to become a versatile and comfortable building, accommodating a wide range of activities.
We are part of the Severn Link Group and work in cooperation with churches in Sutton Hill and Woodside, and Coalbrookdale, Little Wenlock and Ironbridge.

Our parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO).
Our Diocese safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm, please contact the PSO, Anne DeVere on 07757 385444 or contact the diocese.
The Diocese of Hereford Safeguarding Officer is Carl Steventon and he can be contacted on 07593 817717. For any non-urgent safeguarding inquiries or in the event of Carl being unavailable please contact the Diocesan Office on 01432 373300
The welfare of the vulnerable person – child or adult – must always be held paramount, no matter how uncomfortable that may be because only in that way, can we create a church that is safe for everyone.
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police (101 [or 999 if an emergency]) and Telford and Wrekin Council's safeguarding service for children and adults (01952 385385).
